With more than 700 contestants, the 8th edition of the Louis Vinkloop was a success. Vincent Hoek finished first on the 5k run, his first victory since 18/10/2009.
Rabobank Amsterdam North was one of the main sponsors of this running event. Especially for the younger runners the Rabobank sponsored the 1K run. The weather conditions were perfect, so all contestants could aim for their personal bests. Winner of the 5k, Vincent Hoek: “I was aiming for a fast time also, but the legs felt heavy today. Therefore I started the race slowly. Vincent was in third position until 2K. Vincent: “After 2K I decided to speed up my pace, so I became the front runner”. At the finish line Vincent had still an advantage of 11 seconds. The second runner up Johan van der Heijden of ATOS Athletics tried to catch up, but didn’t succeed.
